We are so excited this year! Several new additions on the farm: first and probably the coolest is our new butterfly house. We will be trying our hand at raising butterflies— Monarchs to start and then will move into other species that are native to Wisconsin. After they hatch we will be keeping them in the butterfly house for all to enjoy– and then will release them in fall so they can migrate to Mexico. Since we know there has been a reduction in the numbers for the last 10 years, our commitment is not only to raise them, but to plant milkweed on the property, which they need to lay eggs. If you are reading this and would like to do something to make sure these beautiful creatures survive, plant some milkweed in your yard! In the fall we want to have an annual butterfly festival where we release these beauties with the help of our neighbors and community.
There will be a couple of features installed this year to enhance our visitor experience and to create a beautiful place to take pictures, a wrought iron gazebo and an arbor featuring a French Courting Bench. Around both of these features will be beautiful plants and flowers that attract butterflies. We are continuing to grow and enhance our grounds.
Lastly we will be having a farm sale on May 16-18 with some gems from the farm as well as lavender plants. Watch for the advertisements regarding times etc.
As always, contact us for any questions or inquiries for booking an event. We are filling up fast!
